MosEcoMonitoring is acting as information and analytic centre of the Integrated Moscow city environmental monitoring system. It carries out functions of customer for development, creation and exploitation of the Integrated environmental monitoring system of Moscow and its subordinate environmental monitoring subsystems. Other functions of MosEcoMonitoring include: development of suggestions for major directions of state environmental policy; working out and realization of local programs and environmental and ecological projects; preparing and introduction of suggestions on improvement of norms and legislation concerning environmental protection, ecological safety providing and biodiversity conservation; development and support of environmental information systems; gathering, storage, processing, analyzing and dissemination of environmental information.
